How the Beatles worked
Monday, July 16th, 2007Because of that way of working (early days George Martin was very regimented in the studio, in at 10 tune up go till 1.30, break for lunch then back in at 2.30 record till 5.30) you knocked off at five thirty, so now you had time for an evening. Very civilized. I was living in London, so I’d go to the National to see Colin Blakely in ‘Juno and the Paycock’, go to the movies ‘Far from the madding crowd’ go to an exhibition, a reception. All these great things. So the next morning, when you’re having your cup of tea before recording, you’d be talking about that, and you’d be informed by it.
